Jay L. Bartelstone
Managing Director
In this capacity Jay and his Associates assist companies in their
strategic and capital planning efforts, capital attainment and
ongoing management oversight. Jay has a broad and diverse
management background, having held a number of Senior Executive
positions in the financial services industry, including the
supervision of an array of domestic and international banking
operations at Citicorp, New York. He was responsible for the
direction of the investment management, trust and private banking
operations at Union Bank, Los Angeles, and held the positions of CEO
and Vice Chairman of Columbia Bank and the Bank of Los Angeles
respectively. Jay is a graduate of the University of Connecticut
and received his M.B.A with an emphasis in Finance from Fordham
University in New York.
David A. Walker
David brings to us over 25 years of financial management
experience in the technology, manufacturing and consumer products
industries. As a former CFO and Director of Corporate Development,
he is very knowledgeable about mergers, acquisitions, strategic
partnerships and preparing companies for funding events. David began
his career in operations with Procter & Gamble, then transitioned to
financial roles as a Division Controller with Unisys, Corporate
Controller of TeleTech Telecommunications (nationwide call centers),
Corporate Director of Financial Planning and Analysis for MICOM
Systems, Inc. (Inc. 500 firm now owned by Northern Telecom) and
rising to head of Corporate Development and Strategic Planning for
Infonet (NYSE: IN, now owned by British Telecom). As CFO for Ventura
Coastal LLC (fruit juice manufacturing) he helped triple the
company’s revenues and six fold its earnings in less than three
years. His consulting practice today provides our clients with
needed financial management direction to best maximize their value
and coordinate transaction related events. David holds a BS in
engineering from UCLA and an MBA in finance from the University of
Chicago.
Harvey Goldberg
Harvey has held senior financial executive positions at several public and private companies. His broad experience includes all types of transactions, ranging from acquisitions, divestitures, public offerings, private placements, banking arrangements and extensive contract negotiation. Most recently, he has been a consultant to several start up companies including some involved in the Internet, computer components and direct marketing. Previously, he was a Senior Executive, Chief Financial Officer and Financial Executive at such public companies as Player International (gaming and marketing), Marcade Group (retail, manufacturing and importing), Revlon and CBS. Prior to joining the public sector Harvey was employed in public accounting where he became a Certified Public Accountant. He has a B.S. in Accounting from Brooklyn College (now part of the City University of New York).
Michael C. Pocaterra
Michael has over 40 years experience in all phases of the investment business. In 1963 he became an allied member of the New York Stock Exchange and founded a member firm Scheinman Hochstin & Trotta. In 1966 he relocated to Los Angeles, California where he became a principle of an options firm and a leading expert in the options business. In 1973 he founded the first member firm of the options exchange (CBOE) located on the west coast. He was selected by the exchange to head up their west coast arbitrations and in 1975 helped found the Pacific Options Exchange. In 1979 he joined Oppenheimer & Co. in Los Angeles. In 1980 he moved to San Francisco where he joined Bear Stearns & Co. and after 3 years became an Associate Director. Michael moved to Chicago in 1984 and headed the syndicate department until 1987 when he returned to L.A. He remained with Bear Stearns to 1990. In 1991 he became principal of HJ Meyers, a NYSE firm located in Los Angeles and over the next 4 years underwrote over 16 companies and raised 500 million dollars. When the firm was sold in 1997 he joined HD Brous & Co. an NYSE firm and headed up their west coast operations. In 1999 Michael joined Interfirst Capital Corp. as Sr Managing Director and headed up their corporate finance department. He is active as an arbitrator for the NASD as well as other civic organizations. He attended NYU, as well as Queens College and UCLA.
Ted Izen, Ph.D.
Ted has Executive and General Management experience
in the high technology industry. He formerly served as President
of an intellectual property licensing organization within a Fortune
500 corporation. Ted has also been Vice President of Business Development
for a one billion dollar division of the world's largest defense
and aerospace corporation. He has extensive domestic and international
business development, strategic alliance partnering, licensing,
and intellectual property management.
Rudolph I. Estrada
Rudolph Estrada has served as an executive for many years with one of the largest international banks in the world. In this capacity he was responsible for statewide corporate and commercial banking, specializing in government guaranteed lending, as well as, the sale and investment of government securities on a nationwide investment market. Before entering into banking, Estrada was the Los Angeles District Director for the United States Small Business Administration (SBA). The District Director was responsible for the overall management of a $900 million loan portfolio and also the approval of more than $130 million in new loans and the awarding of $160 million in government contracts annually. Estrada has served for over twenty years on the faculty of the California State University , where he has served as Professor (Adjunct) of Finance and Management at the senior and graduate level, as well as, Director of the Small Business Institute at the University. Estrada received his Associate of Arts Degree in Business from East Los Angeles College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and Management from the California State University at Los Angeles . He later received his Masters Degree from the University of Southern California in Corporate and Strategic Financial and Managerial Planning and Development. He is currently attending the Claremont Graduate University , Peter F. Drucker-School of Management, where he is completing coursework towards his Ph.D. in Strategic Management and Financial Engineering. Estrada also completed the Executive Development Program for senior level career executives in government at the Federal Executive Institute in Charlottesville , Virginia . In 1970, Estrada was awarded the United States Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service while serving with Military Intelligence and Operations, U. S. Army.
Jim Pinto
Jim Pinto comes to us with 25 years of business experience in both
the domestic and international marketplace, where he has worked
with large corporations and small privately held companies. His
area of expertise is business development, with a focus in the high-tech
arena. He currently holds a patent for Semiconductor Fluid Systems.
Jim has developed international business strategies for GTE and
Sylvania, as well as negotiated a joint venture project between
the Japanese, Taiwanese and members of the Royal Thai family, which
resulted in a Board of Opportunity Investment Package. The success
of numerous start-up companies is the direct result of business
plans Jim put together. He was appointed to the International University
Fund of Development in Moscow, to create business strategies for
the east-bloc business community. California State University, Fullerton
has recognized Jim's expertise in the international business community
by calling upon him to be a guest speaker for The Center for the
Study of Emerging Markets. Jim is currently working on a project
basis with a major international company to develop a "pull-through"
business strategy, which will unite U.S. based companies with a
Six-Sigma manufacturing company in China. He received his Bachelor's
Degree in Business from Southern New Hampshire University, and his
Master's of International Business from Northfield University, Great
Britain.
William A. Williamson
Mr. Williamson specializes in providing Network Performance and
Wireless Management software solutions that enable IT organizations
and Wireless Integrators to objectively measure, analyze and improve
upon their IT Services, application infrastructures and wireless
telecommunications performance.
Mr. Williamson has over 30 years of experience in a wide variety
of executive and engineering management positions of companies involved
in the development, marketing and sales of network and performance
management software, data networking, security, and computer systems
products. Mr. Williamson has been involved in four prior start-up
companies, where he was the primary technology driver of products
and services, leading them to successful product launches and rapidly
growing revenues.
Mr. Williamson, he held senior engineering and marketing management
positions with the company since 1991. Bill was the OEM Product
Manager for Retix Corporation, responsible for the develop and production
of customized router and switch products and was instrumental in
taking the division's revenues from $15 to 25 million in less than
a year. Prior to Retix, Mr. Williamson was Vice President of Operations
for Franklin Telecommunications, Inc., where Mr. Williamson's skills
in quality assurance testing, manufacturing and customer support
assisted the division in rapidly growing revenues to $10 million
in three years.
Mr. Williamson has served on a number of standards committees for
the IETF, IEEE and presently is a member of the IEEE 802.11 subcommittee
for Wireless Performance Prediction (WPP). Mr. Williamson has been
a guest speaker at several Performance Management Forums and Seminars.
Mr. Williamson holds a Bachelor of Science degree of Electrical
Engineering from Purdue University, and a Master of Science degree
in Computer Design Engineering from the University of Southern California.
Mr. Williamson also served as an officer in the U.S. Army Signal
Corps and duty at the Army Material Command in Washington, D.C.
for six years.
